Adkins has options for Northampton

The United boss also has Jonathan Forte back from his loan spell at Notts County where he scored four goals.

One man Adkins will be without is Paul Hayes who is still ruled out with a facial injury.

However Adkins is buoyant ahead of the clash with Northampton insisting he is happy with the players at his disposal.

"It was a very good performance [against MK Dons] and it was fantastic that the likes of Ian Morris, Garry Thompson, Ben May and Andrew Wright all came in to play a major part for us", he told the club's official website.

And with two clean sheets in a row without skipper Izzy Iriekpen in defence it could backfire if he decides to remove Andy Wright from the back four.

Wright performed admirably after David Mirfin limped off at stadium:mk and could be given another chance after Adkins said he wants to keep the former Liverpool trainee until the end of the season.
