Adkins: I can't ask for any more

Goals from Jermaine Beckford and Cleveland Taylor sealed all the points for the Iron, who now have a 10 point gap over second-placed Nottingham Forest at the top of League One.

"We had to work very hard because they were a handful all over the field," said Adkins.

"Their front two caused us a lot of problems but we stood toe-to-toe with them in every area and I can't ask any more from the players than that."

Brentford remain deep in trouble at the bottom of the table, with six points currently seperating them from safety.

"If you'd watched the game for long spells you wouldn't have known who was top and who was near the bottom," insisted Bees boss Scott Fitzgerald.

"I didn't think there was much between the two sides. When we make mistakes we get punished for them and when other sides make mistakes we aren't punishing them."
