BBC Radio Humberside revealed this morning that Lawsy had spoken to his counterpart at Villa, Graham Taylor, about bringing in youg players from the Midlands outfit.

The Iron manager is looking to bring in a goalkeeper to chellenge Tommy Evans for the number one jersey.

"We're trying to make a connection with most Premiership league clubs so they can help us, particularly the financial restraints we have in the lower leagues," explained Laws.

"So we have a connection with Graham Taylor who is an ex-Scunthorpe man and he is going to try and help Scunthorpe United as much as he can.

"We're asking him if he can loan us a couple of players, he certainly hasn't turned it down and he has invited me down to have a look at his lads.

"It's going to be more on the younger side the good players who are going to be on loan to loads of decent clubs to get the experience and we can certainly do with players to build our squad."

We spoke to a club official today, who confirmed that this is just an informal link up.
