Beagrie talks to Darlington

Beagrie has spent three years at Glanford Park, but asked for longer to decide whether he would accept a one-year deal to stay.

Reports yesterday suggested that he had turned down that offer, but Iron manager Brian Laws insisted this morning that he had still to hear from him.

Now Darlington have confirmed that they have held talks with the 38-year-old, who is keen to continue his TV work and move into management.

Darlo assistant manager Martin Gray said: "We have spoken to Beagrie but we have also spoken to several other left-sided players."

Beagrie was born in nearby Middlesbrough, and could team up with former Bradford teammate Dean Windass who is set to sign for the Quakers.
