CastIron Podcast 12/13 - Episode 6

Last updated : 04 October 2012 By CastIron Podcast

In this week's show, we look back over the Iron's first home win of the season last Saturday against Colchester United and the effect that result, and the mini unbeaten run before it, has had on our position in the League One table.

The team then discuss the two fixtures coming up for Scunthorpe in the next week; away at struggling Portsmouth this Saturday (29th Sept) followed by the return of old-friends and current league leaders Tranmere Rovers to Glanford Park.
After making our predictions, we then talk about the improving squad strength and depth now with several players beginning to return to training and the competition for places this will bring, and discuss the recent interview on local radio with Mark Duffy about the impact of negativity from some fans on players - including himself and the recent departure of striker Bobby Grant to Rochdale.

Finally, we end the show answering two listener questions from Stephen Cruikshank and Tom Walkeden via Twitter, who asked for the team's thoughts on the current dependancy on Leon Clarke for all our goals at the moment and on the potential impact of club captain Paul Reid's immenent return to the squad as he recovers from his recent injury.
