Controversial ref gets nod for Friday's clash

Attwell has come under scrutiny during the past two seasons, and was recently demoted to refereeing Conference football for a short spell after a string of poor decisions.

He was most famously known for allowing Reading's "phantom goal" at Watford this season, but came under fire from Hereford striker Steve Guinan in March after allowing a goal that was clearly offside, and got big decisions incorrect in the derby between Forest and Derby.

It will be the second time he has taken charge of an Iron match, having refereed the home clash with Plymouth Argyle in March last year.

On that occasion, he sent off Argyle's keeper Luke McCormick for handling outside his area.

He was given 80 yellow cards and 8 red so far this season in 27 games.
