Cork delight at first goal

Cork, on loan from Premier League side Chelsea, netted the equaliser for the Iron in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Coventry at the Ricoh Arena.

And Cork celebrated the goal by running over to his dad Alan, who was part of the famous Wimbledon side which rose from Division Four to the top flight and won the FA Cup in 1988.

"I think the boys were a bit disappointed I didn't go over and celebrate with them and if it had have been any other game I would have," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"My dad used to work here and got sacked, so when I scored I was straight over to him."

Cork senior lost his job earlier this year when Micky Adams was sacked as Coventry manager, with new boss Iain Dowie taking his own backroom team to the Ricoh Arena.
