Crewe hope for double return

The pair were both missing as the Alex went out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 1-0 loss at Tranmere Rovers on Monday night, but are expected to return to training on Thursday.

Their availability would be a massive help for the head coach Steve Holland, who has Michael O'Connor and Dennis Lawrence away on international duty with Northern Ireland and Trinidand & Tobago respectively.

Bailey has been out with concussion while Baudet has been recovering from a hamstring injury.

"James [Bailey] is doing fine, we are hopeful that he will be able to resume full training and be available for selection," Holland told Crewe's official website.

"We are still a bit unsure about Julien, it will be tough and go a bit but we hope he will be fit and available."

Scunthorpe will also be missing two players because of international commitments on Saturday.

The on-loan defender Krystian Pearce will bewith the England U19 squad, while the midfielder Grany McCann will be with Northern Ireland.

Joe Murphy will play in goal for United before joining the Republic of Ireland squad for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Cyprus at Croke Park.

Izzy Iriekpen, the Iron captain, should return though having missed the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Grimsby Town with a groin injury.
