North End are bottom of the Championship table, but a win at Glanford Park on Saturday would see them move above the Iron.
The Lancashire side play seven times in February, a run of games that are likely to prove pivotal.
"If we can go to Scunthorpe and get something there, we'd be three games unbeaten going into February," Jones told the Lancashire Evening Post.
"Next month it's Saturday-Tuesday pretty much all the way through, so we need to take some momentum into it. February is going to be a massive month, it really is."
