Defeat is hard to take for Laws

An 88th minute goal from Lee Steele, capitalising on a mistake by Cliff Byrne, left United without a league win since November 22 and just six points above the relegation zone.

He said: "We did everything right in the second half to reduce them to very little in the way of chances.

"It's hard for us to take because the winning goal was solely down to us, not them. And that I'm afraid has been the catalyst of our season.

"We have to get our heads round this very, very quickly and get ready for the next game. That is one of our games in hand gone.

"We haven't moved anywhere, it hasn't affected us and it won't be long before we've played the same amount of games as the other teams.

"What we have to concentrate on now is making sure we finish in the top half of the table."
