Eyre keen to return

Laws admitted earlier this week that Eyre was is a player he would like to bring back to the club, and Iron-Bru.net can confirm that he would like an Iron return.

Eyre is currently training with Hull City juniors near his home and was pleasantly surprised to read reports in the local media linking him with a return to Glanford Park.

However Eyre has not been contacted by anyone at Glanford Park and so the ball is very much in Brian Laws' court.

It is reminiscent of the scenario Ex-Iron favourite Paul Musselwhite found himself in when he was linked with a return to the Iron in 2000. On that occassion, despite the popular keeper wanting a return, Laws decided not to make an approach and so Musselwhite joined Hull City.

Eyre recently played in a local five-a-side tournament in Hull with ex-Iron's Christian Sansam and Max Nicholson as well as former Hull City player Neil Mann and a Hull City Director.

Former Iron Christian Sansam was quoted as saying: "Johnny was dynamite - just unbelievable".

Iron-Bru.net are currently running a poll asking whether you - the fans - want to see John Eyre back at Glanford Park and it seems Eyre's reservations about whether Scunthorpe supporters would welcome him back to the club or not are not an issue with the poll currently reading 85.7% in favour of yes.
