Grimsby apologise to Laws

In an editorial statement yesterday we asked Grimsby Town to distance themselves from a minority of their fans who provked an angry reaction from Laws by singing about his recently deceased ex-wife.

To their credit, they have contacted Laws today to apologise for this minority's actions.

A statement read: "Grimsby Town Football Club have today been in contact with Scunthorpe United manager Brian Laws to apologise for the actions of a minority of Grimsby Town supporters in last weekend's derby clash at Glanford Park.

"The club have also sent a letter to Brian apologising, and expressing their dismay at the chanting of some supporters."

Iron-Bru.net would like to praise GTFC for their actions, and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season. Except on April 23, when we look forward to completing the double over them.
