Humber derby passes peacefully

The fixtures between United and Hull tend to attract the small minority of nutters in both sets of supporters, but police only had words of praise for supporters after Saturday's game was played without any off the pitch trouble.

Three men, all from Hull, were arrested and have been charged with public order offences. Two were arrested at Glanford Park, and one away from the ground.

Town centre pubs had remained shut throughout most of the day on police advice.

Insp Andy Watson of Humberside Police said: "We are generally pleased with the majority of fans who were well behaved."
