Scunthorpe are one of only two teams to have more than one player included in the side, which is voted for by other players.

It is a massive reflection of the respect other professional players have for the pair.

The PFA statement announcing the award read: "Peter Beagrie has proved he is still a major threat and while his crosses have been a big help to free-scoring striker Steve MacLean the ex-Everton man has also reached double figures in goals himself.

"Nathan Stanton is widely considered one of the best full-backs in the division.

"The 22-year-old already has a wealth of experience under his belt since making his league debut in 1998."

The team in full:

Chris Weale (Yeovil)
Nathan Stanton (Scunthorpe), Efe Sodje (Huddersfield), Andy Crosby (Oxford), Andy Dawson (Hull)
Alex Russell (Torquay), Michael McIndoe (Doncaster), Liam Lawrence (Mansfield), Peter Beagrie (Scunthorpe)
