The Dubliner has formed a stunning partnership alongside Billy Sharp for the Iron, having moved from Leeds United in February 2005.

As a free agent Keogh will be entitled to move to another club in the summer, although as he is under 24 United will be entitled to a transfer fee - set by triubunal if neccesary.

"I don't think I would have ever got a chance at Leeds and I'd need a crystal ball to see where I'd be if I hadn't come to Scunthorpe. It was the right decision to come to here," insisted Keogh to the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"They gave me a chance to prove myself at a first-team level and I will always appreciate that, I have never looked back since I came here.

"I thought I was good enough to play for Leeds in the Championship when I was 18 but I never got given the chance to show it. I had to drop down to come back up."
