Lack of respect and ill discipline

Goals from Steve Torpey and Andy Butler looked to be enough to secure all three points for the Iron, but an 83rd minute penalty from Michael McIndoe and a bundled goal from Leo Fortune-West in the last minute saw the match end in a stalemate.

Laws was understandably unhappy with the result, citing a lack of discipline but not effort.

He said: "This was a massive disappointment. For 75 minutes we bossed the game and made them look ordinary. Then indiscipline let us down.

"At 2-0 we were cruising but we've lost the wining formula and can't kill games off.

"We shot ourselves in the foot. The simple fact is we showed a lack of respect for each other and a lot of ill discipline.

"I can't fault our energy levels. They wanted to win but we made too many mistakes and gave away too many free kicks. We encouraged them to put the ball in the box and take their chances.

"The penalty turned the game. Their player wasn't even looking for a penalty but the referee decided otherwise. It gave them a lift they never should have had.

"We started arguing with each other and that is not good enough. There is a time and place for that but I understand their frustration."

Doncaster's David Penney was understandably pleased with the point, saying: "After being 2-0 behind with ten men and only nine minutes left we've got to be happy, it showed the great character we have in the side."
