Lavery has joined John Sheridan's side on an initial month loan deal, as a potential move to Glanford Park was put on hold following the sacking of Brian Laws.
The 22-year-old Canadian-born player, who has represented Northern Ireland, is expected to join the Pilgrims in time for their League Two clash against Dagenham and Redbridge tomorrow.
