Laws was quick to express his disappointment with Ribeiro after the game against the Cobblers, believing the former Bristol City man could have carried on.
But the Iron manager has apologised after a scan showed the full back would be out of action for 4-6 weeks.
"I came out and probably made out it was more minor than he thought it was. I have to say I got that wrong", Laws said.
