Bouncebackability: Laws delighted by win
“I’m delighted by the result” he rapped after seeing new boy Michael Rankine score a last minute winner on his football league debut.

Laws was full of praise for United's matchwinner, "He is very raw and not fully fit, but he is very strong and ideal to bring on in the latter stage of a game.

"It wasn't an outstanding performance, but it was a solid one" said Laws, who was also indebted to a player at the opposite end of his career.

"I didn't expect him to last the full 90 minutes, but it was a massive boost to have him back" said Laws of Iron veteran Peter Beagrie.

"I thought we had plenty of other good performances. Defensively we
looked very solid and I thought that Butler and Crosby were outstanding and
didn't miss anything.

“We kept their fans quiet and you got the feeling that the longer it went on the more chance we had of snatching it.

“I’m sure there’s alot of sceptics, particularly in Scunthorpe, but I think we’ve answered a few critics today.

“There’s been a lot of managers using the term, ‘bouncebackability’ in the last week, its not yet in the Oxford dictionary but we have to be able to bounce back and what better way than to win away from home."

Opposite number Graham Barrow was left to rue missed chances and referee
Penn's decision to give the free-kick for contributing to a second
consecutive 1-0 home loss.

"I didn't think we deserved to lose and I don't think that Scunthorpe are
that much better than us if at all" said the Shakers chief.

"It was never a free-kick and while we should have defended it better, you
can't keep having decisions go against you like that."
