Laws pleased with debutants

A 67th minute equaliser by Paul Hayes, following a one-two with Paul Hayes, saved a valuable point for United and has strengthened their playoff position.

Laws said: "It was a valuable point for us because Cambridge are one of the most dangerous teams in the division and their striker Kitson is a real handful.

"But I was very pleased with the way our new players Greg Strong and Paul Dalglish came on in the game to the point where we were the better side for probably the last half an hour."

Cambridge United however are now looking out of the playoff race, but John Taylor is confident his side can still do it.

He said: "It was disappointing not to win a game we dominated for so long. But we've not given up in the play off race even though we are going to have to win four of our last six matches.

"We've showed this week that we are as good as two teams in the top four."
