Laws relieved to take the three points

Torquay took a first half lead, but a fighback inspired by second half substitutes Steve McLean and Alex Calvo-Garcia saw United snatch three points at the death

Laws said: "The important thing was the three points. The first half was slow but we had enough chances to have won, we gave them a Keystone Cops goal and our confidence was shot to pieces."

Torquay manager Rosenior was left fuming at the referee, who had sent him to the stands shortly before the end and red carded goalie Arjan Van Heusden after the final whistle had blown.

He said: "I'm very disappointed. There were some poor decisions by the referee and poor discipline from our keeper.

"I was sent off after kicking a water bottle. We were comfortably in control and could have taken the game. You work all week and then you are beaten by the referee."
