Staying put
MacLean has been in top form since joining the Iron in August, netting 17 goals in all competitions to leave himself top of the pile in the Division Three scoring chart.

First Division clubs Reading and Norwich had both expressed an interest in signing MacLean when his loan deal expired, but Gers boss Alex McLeish has given Iron boss Brian Laws his Christmas wish and allowed the highly rated youngster to stay with the Iron for the rest of the season.

He has also signed a one year extension to his contract at Ibrox, with the reigning SPL Champions currently looking to bring in an experienced striker in the January transfer window.

He will partner Steve Torpey up front for the Boxing Day trip to league leaders Doncaster Rovers.
