McCombe joins Halifax

The lanky centre-back, who has previously been scouted by Aston Villa and Spurs, has found himself out of the first team reckoning this season as the club have an abundance of defenders.

Iron manager Brian Laws said: "We have a lot of defenders at the club so I was happy to let Jamie go out on loan.

"It gives him an opportunity to go out and get some games and hopefully he will come back better for it."
