Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes of Greater Manchester Police died during an incident in Hyde.

Hughes was from Oldham, and the home players will wear black armbands.

"Our thoughts are with the families, friends and colleagues of the two officers at this difficult time," said Neil Joy, the Latics chief executive.

The two officers were attending a routine operation. Witnesses said a hail of bullets were fired and a grenade thrown during the attack.

Shortly afterwards Dale Cregan, one of the country's most wanted men in connection with separate gun and grenade attacks, handed himself into a nearby police station.
