Nolan keeping options open

While Laws has indicated Nolan would be a big part of his plans for next season, he has warned that the club will not wait forever.

“We’re still talking to Eddie, but he’s indicated that he is having a look at what is out there,” the Iron boss told the Telegraph.

“Most players don’t want to go into League Two because it’s a step back.

“But we’ve made him an offer and he wants to take his time and think about it, which I can understand.

“I’ve also said to him that while he’s thinking about it, I might fill that position and if I do, he might be back to where he was before.

“Players have to be very careful. The word on the street is everybody is cutting back so there are going to be a lot of players available and not many contracts to offer.”

Nolan left the Iron last summer but returned in January after being without a club for the start of the season

“I would think we’ll get a firm decision from him in mid-June", Laws added.
