Pressman excited by Iron challenge

Pressman will join United's backroom staff next season, as one of two new coached joining the setup following promotion to the Championship.

Former Royal Marine Darren Abramson also arrives at the club as fitness and conditioning coach.

"I helped out Scunthorpe for one d ay a week at the back end of the season, and with them getting promoted, Nigel Adkins has created the position," Pressman said.

"It's fantastic to get this chance. It's what I've been wanting to do.

"It's the next stage of my career. I'm full of enthusiasm and looking forward to getting stuck into coaching on a full-time basis."

Pressman is well-known for his time at Sheffield Wednesday, where he made 478 appearances between the sticks.

He was released by the Owls in May 2004, and went on to spells at Leicester, Leeds, Coventry, Mansfield and Portadown.

As well as his role at Scunthorpe, Pressman will continue to run Just4keepers coaching sessions in Sheffield and Chesterfield.
