He made a big impression at Meadow Lane, and Richardson is looking forward to his return.
"I'm looking forward to catching up with Ian again, we played together here for many years,'' he said.
"He was a great servant to the club, but from what I hear is now doing well at Scunthorpe.
"Hopefully he'll get a good reception from our supporters because he gave 100 per cent and stuck with the club during the administration period."
