Ridley signs contract extension

The Scunthorpe-born youngster was elevated to the first-team at the start of the season following a knee injury to Kevin Sharp, and has refused to give up his place easily.

Boss Brian Laws said: "He has had an excellent start to the season, he has made the place his own and put in some sterling performances.

"We feel he has justified his increase in salary, he is a local boy and that is what Scunthorpe United is all about."
