United lie just three points above the relegation zone and know that points must be put on the board if the club are to avoid dropping out of the Football LEague for the first time in 54 years.

Rochdale are one of four teams which seperate the Iron and the relegation zone, meaning Saturday's game is a `must-win` for both sides.

Midfielder Wayne Graves will miss the match with a dead leg, but Nathan Stanton will be fit to play.

Peter Beagrie and Alex Calvo-Garcia both played for the reserves midweek but will have to settle for a place on the bench as they work their way back to match fitness.

Caretaker manager Russ Wilcox is under no illusions about the importance of the match, and insists the fans will have a big part to play.

He said: "We have to stay calm, we will certainly be going out all guns blazing to try and win the game but we still have 18 points left to play for.

"I would encourage the supporters to get behind the team, it is your town and your team.

"I have stressed to the players that we need to do it for the fans, they pay our wages and without the fans we have nothing.

"We are certainly good enough to get out of this trouble, we have enough in our dressing room and I know there are worse sides in this division but we have to get the results to prove it."
