The 19-year-old scored the winner against Bury, on his debut for the club after coming off the bench.
Iron manager Brian Laws said: "He is willing to listen and learn, and has agreed a contract with us for the rest of the season, with the option of something else next summer."
Laws is also hoping to bring another young striker into the club, from a non-league club.
He is refusing to give any clues about his identity, but it will involve paying a transfer fee to his current club.
