Chairman Steve Wharton has announced that the club's relocation plans may be halted after the recent credit crunch severely impacted on the housing market.
North Lincolnshire Council expect to announce their forward plans in October and the club are hoping that they will include a new stadium as a preferred option.
Wharton also explained that small improvements will continue to be made to Glanford Park, but no major developments will take place until the club is certain that a new stadium is not a possibility.
The club will continue with plans to extend the Executive Lounge, create a new media centre for Study United and install lift access for the disabled. Work on this project should get underway before the end of the year.
Glanford Park's old seating should all be replaced just after the start of the season.
