Three year deal
Stanton is one of seven first team players out of contract this summer, and the club are keen to hold onto one of their prized assets.

Left-back Andy Dawson has been the subject of frenzied transfer speculation linking him with a switch to Hull City, and Iron manager Brian Laws was set to discuss his future with him this weekend.

Martin Carruthers, Lee Ridley, Terry Barwick, James Cotterill and Richard Kell are also all out of contract and are waiting to be told their futures.

Greg Strong meanwhile, who has been on loan from Hull, has admitted that he is uncertain where his future lies.

He has another two years of his contract to run at Hull, but could be allowed to leave on a free transfer if another club is interested.

Tigers manager Peter Taylor recently said that he is expecting Strong to return for pre-season training on July 2.
