Thompson (neck), Nolan (calf) and Grant (leg) were all able to train in the week and should at least make the matchday squad.

Damien Mozika remains out due to an ankle injury, meaning Michael O'Connor and Oliver Norwood are likely to continue their partnership in the centre of midfield.

Chris Dagnall missed training this week due to a dead-leg but is expected to continue up front. He was due to return to training on Friday.

Jordan Robertson (ankle), Matt Godden (hip/hernia), Josh Lillis and Jimmy Ryan (both knee) remain ruled out.

There is no indication yet whether Sam Johnstone, the keeper on loan from Manchester United, is fit to return from his dislocated finger. If he does not return, then Sam Slocombe will keep his place.

Bournemouth are waiting on the fitness of midfielder Stephen Purches, who has a dead leg and will be assessed on Friday.

Steve Gregory, who came off the bench to replace him at Preston on Saturday, will be elevated to the starting XI if he does not make it.

Midfielder Mark Molesley is back in contention after a hamstring problem, while defender Stephane Zubar and forward Charlie Sheringham are available following bans. Shaun MacDonald (toe) is out.
