Trotter turned down a loan return to Grimsby, where he impressed earlier in the season, and is determined to make an impression on United boss Nigel Adkins.

He is out of contract at the end of this season - and Ipswich will allow him to move on according to reports.

"It's definitely somewhere I'd like to come," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"I'd definitely like to move here. I played here earlier in the season, liked the crowd and liked the way the team played They like to get it down and play football, that's what I like."

The young playmaker will sit down with Adkins this week to decide on a possible switch.
