Torps suffered a dead leg in the league game against Exeter last month, and the swelling has still not relaxed enough to allow him to play.

The club have not commented on speculation that he could be out for the rest of the season, and have sent him to have a scan in the hope it will reveal more.

They will receive the results of the scan either tomorrow or Saturday, and he is likley to miss the Humber derby on Saturday.

Meanwhile Iron manager Brian Laws has hinted that the on-loan defender Cliff Byrne, who played for Ireland U21's against Scotland U21's on Tuesday night, could beome a pernament Iron player before the end of the season.
