The Canaries are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Bryan Gunn just two games into the new season, but Iron the chairman Wharton has denied stories which claim he has been contacted by the Carrow Road outfit to discuss Adkins.
"I have heard nothing from Norwich about Nigel - and I hope it stays that way," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
Adkins has been in the Glanford Park hot-seat since stepping up from his position as physiotherapist when Brian Lawsleft for Sheffield Wednesday in November 2006.
