Wilcox - We should have won

United took a first half lead through Paul Groves, his third goal for the club since joining from Grimsby Town.

But the home side equalised deep into time added on, and then took the lead four minutes after the interval.

Wilcox felt that the players could not have given any more effort, and that the side were unlucky not to take anything out of the game.

He said: "It was a game we were controlling. We shaould have made sure we came in with a 1-0 lead, their equalising goal was the turning point.

"We had silenced the crowd but the goal before the break turned everything on its head. The second goal was the story of our season.

"The lads are devastated because they've given their all, if Alex Ferguson came in at the moment he could not get any more effort wise.

"We seem to be chasing games all the time. We should have won three of the four games I've been in charge.

"It's a difficult run in and we'd love a poor performance and a 1-0 win at this stage of the season."
