The 28-year-old ex-Shrewsbury winger signed on a free transfer on Friday and sees coming to Prenton Park as a great opportunity.

He said: "There was quite a bit of interest but Tranmere and Brian Little just speak for themselves really and this is the perfect move for me.

"Everybody knows about Jason McAteer and Iain Hume and I played against them last season, and it's a lovely stadium and a fantastic pitch.

"It's a great opportunity for me to see if I can hack it at this level. I just want to make an impression and start as many games as I can and, after finishing third, the target for the club is to gain promotion."
