A 2-0 home win over Leicester City left the Addicks second in the Championship and having picked up 14 points from their first seven league games.

Pardew said: "We're second and that's where I expect us to be, there or thereabouts.

"We've got 14 points from seven games, that's the standard that we've set and we need to carry that through to the next seven games.

"I've not had a chance to see a lot of the sides, but the teams we've been up against show it's a tough division and I'm pleased that we've started well.

"But that's all we've done, start well. After ten games you can usually tell how you're going, so we'll see where we are after the next three."
