Diallo, 35, has made seven appearances since joining Martin Allen's side and will sign an 18-month contract in January.
The Robins manager Martin Allen also revealed his interest in signing Steve Brooker and James Wesolowski - from Bristol City and Leicester City respectively - on permanent deals in the New Year.
Wesolowski is currently on loan at Whaddon Road, while Brooker spent time with Town last term.
