A 2-0 win over Cambridge at Belle Vue sealed a second successive promotion for the South Yorkshire side.

The goals came from Adebayo Akinfenwa and Paul Green, Rovers' 14th match without a defeat.

It is even tighter at the wrong end of the league, with bottom club Carlisle moving to within two points of safety with a draw at Leyton Orient.

With four games to play they now have 41 points, with York 23rd on 42 and Rochdale 22nd on 43.

York currently have two games in hand, and will face Bury tomorrow.

Strong results for any of these sides could still pull Darlington or Scunthorpe back into the relegation battle.
