He will join Championship side Crystal Palace on a free transfer, if he passes a medical.
"Darryl Flahavan is having a medical with us and the move should go through subject to that medical," Palace's assistant manager Mick Jones told the Southend Echo.
"He is a good goalkeeper and there was a lot of interest in him, but we are an attractive proposition at the moment."
