The 29-year-old forward has been out of action for eight months following a cruciate ligament operation but played the last 17 minutes of Forest's 1-0 loss to Odense.

And although Lester admits it will be a long road back to full fitness - he is confident of making a complete recovery

"It¹s a big target reached to get that first game under my belt," he told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"It will give me something to build on. I'm really happy with my fitness and that is only after four or five days of actually playing in training. Over
the next month, I will be looking to build on this and get stronger.

"When I had the operation, we were really looking at a return in about
October, so, at the moment, I'm miles ahead of schedule but I¹ve still
got to be patient to make sure I get back in great shape and everything is okay.
