Gills players free to leave - could Hope return?

The Gills are 17th in the League One table, and caretaker boss Ronnie Jepson has said he needs to make drastic changes in the playing staff to avoid a second straight relegation.

Former Iron captain Chris Hope is one of those players with an uncertain future, and he has voiced concerns this week over his inability to impress because of a calf injury.

Hislop told Sky Sports: "Because they are in such a bad state they've told the entire squad we can go on a free transfer if we can find a club.

"That doesn't mean I have to go. I spoke to the new manager and said if I could find a club in Scotland - the right club for me - I'd seriously think about it. But if not, Gillingham will get nothing but 100 per cent from me."
