He has been included in the side to play Scotland B in Airdrie, but will not be joining up with the squad - which includes Scunthorpe midfielder Jim Goodwin - if Brown has his way.
"It's my opinion that Caleb will be playing no part in that game. We've had confirmation through that he has received a call-up but I'm not going to be sending him to play in an international so soon after coming back from injury," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"Having worked so hard to get Caleb back to fitness, we don't want anything that could jeopardise or interrupt his progress.".
