A stunning Dean Windass volley secured a 1-0 Championship play-off final win over Bristol City and Brown is hoping to use his experience from his time at Bolton Wanderers to good effect.
He said: "I believe that survival is achievable. I am planning meticulously for survival in the Premier League and I have a ready-made plan from my time at Bolton Wanderers. That is the model that we will copy.
"Bolton went up in 2001 with Blackburn Rovers and Fulham and all three are still there.
"We have a good nucleus, but I will add to the squad with players who will improve us on the field and off the field."
