Leeds United have pleaded guilty to a Football Association charge of using an unlicensed agent.

The charge relates to their signing of Anthony Elding from Stockport County in January 2008. Elding has since left Elland Road to join Crewe Alexandra.

"Leeds United can confirm that the club has pleaded guilty to the Football Association charge for using an unlicensed agent in respect of the transfer of Anthony Elding from Stockport County in January 2008," read a club statement.

"The club has requested a personal hearing and no further comment will be made, other than we would like to reiterate the fact that no payment has been made or is alleged to have been made to the agent involved in respect of the transfer."
