Hull City were among the first to announce a signing, securing the signature of striker Matty Fryatt from Leicester City.

He is reunited with Nigel Pearson, the Tigers manager who was in charge at the Walkers Stadium last season.

There was further activity at the KC Stadium, with winger Kevin Kilbane making a loan move to the League One side Huddersfield Town.

Leicester brought in a signing of their own, with defender Ben Mee joining on loan from Manchester City.

The Foxes are also close to the signing of the Ivory Coast defender Sol Bamba ahead of a move from the Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.
The centre-back, 25, has passed a medical and will be reunited with Sven-Goran Eriksson, whom he worked with at last summer's World Cup finals.
