Sven-Goran Eriksson made an approach for the Polish keeper, who did not want to leave Old Trafford.

"Tomasz doesn't want to come to us. We are not going out to buy just a goalkeeper. It must be an absolute top keeper or we will stay with what we have. I am only interested if he is a top keeper," said Eriksson.

The Leicester teenager Cian Bolger has joined Bristol Rovers on a month`s loan.

Eddie Howe has insisted Bournemouth will always hold a special place in his heart after he quit the club to take the reins at Burnley.

Howe, 33, left the League One side to replace Brian Laws at Turf Moor and has been joined by his assistant Jason Tindall.

Howe led the Cherries from the depths of League Two to League One promotion contenders and looked set to stay at the club after turning down offers from both Charlton and Crystal Palace last week.

"I will always love Bournemouth and the supporters for the backing they gave me during my time there. I joined Bournemouth when I was 11 and came through the centre of excellence and the youth team to become a player there," he said.

"I went on to become reserve-team manager, centre of excellence manager and then first-team manager, so I've done near enough most jobs there. It was where I was brought up as well, so it was a big decision to leave, and it was only going to be to a club that was ambitious and ticked all the boxes. Burnley does that."

Crystal Palace are considering moving from Selhurst Park to the Crystal Palace Athletics Stadium. The club will announce plans on Thursday.

Doncaster Rovers have completed the signing of midfielder Paul Keegan, who made two appearances on loan at the Iron from Leeds United in 20x03, from Irish side Bohemians on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
