Andy Carroll, the Newcastle United forward, has been charged with assault.
Carroll, a former target of Scunthorpe, is accused of causing minor head injuries to a man at Blu Bamboo in Newcastle on DEcember 7.
Carroll, 21, will appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on February 25.
